Narrow Tie
By admin | January 21, 2009
The narrow tie is currently considered to be THE tie trend of the decade. Narrow ties first became popular in the sixties, when it was worn by some nice, clean-cut “good boys” who performed in groups or bands as part of television and stage entertainment. Evidently, the retro trend has brought back the popularity of the narrow tie, and now many people in the entertainment industry – male or female – who don the narrow tie as part of their full outfit. As far as accessories go, the narrow tie has proven itself to be sharp-looking and in some ways, positively iconic.
Today the narrow tie is often worn as part of a casual get-up or to convey a look that is memorable and sharp. This often means that the narrow tie is ideally worn with a sports coat or with no coat at all. Fashion experts also suggest that the narrow tie has the effect of making a person who is wearing it seem taller than he or she actually is. Thinner individuals are also recommended to wear a narrow tie (if choosing to wear a tie at all) so that he or she may not seem overwhelmed by the accessory. The narrow tie, because it has such specific effects on the look of a person, is truly a fashion item that implies a sense of exclusivity and glamor.
